Electro erosion wires (EDM)

A world leader in the EDM market, Thermocompact designs, manufactures and distributes wire electrodes for electrical discharge machining.

Wire EDM is a micro sparking machining technique. This high precision cutting technique remains unmatched to this day.

Thanks to their strongly innovative policy, Thermocompact offers their customers high performance wires of the latest generation. Thermo TEX, Thermo SA, Thermo SE, and Thermo SD...

Coated wires allow considerable productivity gains compared to plain brass wires, as well as very high quality surface condition (Ra = 0,05µm).

Ultra high precision. Thermo SA

Thermocompact, together with R&D laboratories from GF Agie Charmilles, have designed a new ultra high precision coated wire.

The Thermo SA wire makes it possible to have surface conditions of Ra 0,05 µm and considerable increases productivity. The machining speed is 10% higher than with Cobra Cut A.

The new generation of X wire

Example of machining on a Charmilles machine with a brass wire and a coated wire (Thermo TEX).

A 60mm high steel block will be machined in 3h35mn with the Thermo TEX coated wire whereas the same machining will take 5h34mn with a brass wire.

The machining cost with the brass wire is 132 euros, with the Thermo TEX wire, it is 101 euros. That is a saving of 24% with the Thermo TEX wire.

New: Highest speed ever reach on a Sodick 535.

Thermo SE, 0,3 mm, enable very high speed for rough cutting using Brass technology. Take a look at the Trials on Sodick 535 in the customer section.
